Institute Highlights

• On 1st February, 2001, Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya was established at Cooch Behar for the development of agriculture and for the furtherance of the advancement of agricultural education, prosecution of agricultural research, and extension in the eight northern districts of West Bengal.
• In the year 2005, the Faculty of Technology started its journey as the third faculty of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya with the approval of All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE), New Delhi, and Director of Technical Education, Govt. of West Bengal.
• The faculty offers a four-year degree program designed to enhance the range of pedagogic uses of technology to improve the productivity of agricultural and horticultural crops through efficient utilization and conservation of natural resources for future use. The curricula of Agricultural Engineering education integrate engineering and agricultural science to cater the engineering applications to the needs of agriculture. The syllabus of B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering course is based on the advances in the relevant field and guidelines framed by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and are approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
• The U.G. course of Agricultural Engineering comprises of various disciplines like Agricultural Science, Basic Science and Humanities, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Social Sciences, Farm Power and Machinery, Soil and Water Engineering,and Processing and Food Engineering. The faculty has the provision of six academic departments.
• The students passing out from the Faculty consistently perform well at All India Entrance Examinations like GATE, ICAR-JRF etc. and pursue their career in reputed national institutes like IITs, IISc, and SAUs.
